What are Delays Reported?

Delays Reported use MIDAS information to gain information of average speeds. Motorway Incident Detection And Signing or MIDAS, uses vehicle detection loops which are installed in the road surface to detect slow moving or stationary traffic on the motorway and set message signs and signals to warn traffic approaching the hazard ahead. TrafficMap will only report on Delays Reported when the average speed is 30 mph or below. TrafficMap represents Delays Reported with a red circular icon
